Metrocell
The new MetroCell modular drainage system is an alternative drainage method to traditional surface water soakaways or temporary storage facilities. Its unique design and strength enables the unit to be installed at various depths to suit extreme applications from landscaping to trafficked locations.

Each unit has been designed to withstand excessive loading vertically and horizontally. The versaility of each unit enables the installer to use MetroCell for both infiltration and attenuation drainage methods.

MetroCell is a modern flexible drainage method which can be laid in layers, as each box is connected using a series of connecting clips. With a void ratio of 95%, the MetroCell incorporates a much greater storage facility than certain other traditional drainage methods.

Features and Benefits

Modular
The Naylor MetroCell units are based on a 1m module and can be installed in layers of 0.3m thickness.

Strong
The 600kN/m2 vertical strength combined with a 150kN/m2 lateral strength are some of the highest values in the industry to date. This strength allows the units to be used with confidence.

Versatile
There are both 110mm and 160mm diameter preformed connectors within each unit.

Economic
With only 3 units per m3, installation is faster than normal. This ensures costs are kept to a minimum.

Flexible
With both horizontal and vertical water movement there is no need to install extensive distribution pipes or large gravel beds.

Lightweight
Under the Heath and Safety weight limit the units can still be handled by a single person.

TESTING
- All data supplied can be supported by qualified third party independent certification. Ultimate load bearing capacity has been established under laboratory testing conditions during short load testing. Partial factor of safety of 2.75 (ultimate limit state) and 1.5 (serviceability limit state) should be applied to these values for a 20 year design life.
Creep test results (available on request for MetroCell units), enable a long term rate of deflection to be estimated for a typical 20 year life span.

Where settlement is not an issue this can be estimated for up to 50 years, if required.
