Basic Installation
- Dig a suitable shallow trench and lay a bed of compacted stone allowing sufficient fall for water run off.

- Do not remove Grate from the Channel until installation is complete. Leave the grate in the channel and cover it with heavy duty tape. This will prevent any bedding material or wet concrete from falling into the channel during installation.
- Lay Channel components in trench and cut the last length to size.
- Use Joiners to connect channels together and connect either an end cap or an end cap outlet to finish off a drain run.
- If required, a proprietory sealant can be applied to the joints to make them watertight, although this is not normally necessary as seepage at the joints is not critical.
- In traffic areas the channel should be set in concrete with expansion joint material on each side.
- When the concrete surround is poured it should finish approximately 2mm above the grate to avoid ’ponding’ and to facilitate effective flow of water into the channel.
- Remove sticky tape from grate and clean up edge between concrete and channel with a trowel.
- Allow 72 hours before vehicular use or removal of grates.
Features & Benefits
- Channel Lengths
Channels are available in 1m and 3m lengths complete with one joiner per unit.
- Cutting
Naylor Aqua-Lite does not require stone cutting equipment as polymer concrete channels. Aqua-Lite can be cut with a standard wood saw and push fit jointed.
- Wastage
Users experience less wastage with Aqua-Lite as cut offs can be utilized using an extra joiner. The cutting of most polymer concrete systems results in the jointing system being lost.
Both the channels and grates are made from re-cycled plastics.
- Non-rusting
The Aqua-Lite plastic grating does not rust when cut unlike other systems with galvanized grates.
- Less breakage
Aqua-Lite channel is far less likely to break if knocked or mishandled than some polymer concrete systems.
- Light and simple installation technique
Ideal for contractor and DIY enthusiast.
- Unique fittings
Ready made fittings available. 90 degree angles, ‘T’ pieces and running outlets make for a neat and professional finish.
- Channel with anti-floatation flange
Naylor Aqua-Lite has a flat bottom with an anti-floatation flange. This allows the channel to be effectively secured preventing any movement during and after installation thus reducing costs.
- Black channel and grate wears well, looks good and does not ‘choke’ easily
Aqua-Lite is a durable product and has an aesthetically pleasing surface finish. It can easily be flushed clean with standard household water hose and the plastic grating allows better rate of water during cleaning than some other systems.
- The Aqua-Lite black grate matches existing Naylor building gully polypropylene tops
Complements existing Naylor polypropylene gully tops for ‘round the house’ drainage maintaining colour continuity.
